Act with Confidence – Protect Your Business

Our Insurance Coverage for Your Company

Whether liability claims, property damage, business interruption or cyberattacks: with the right commercial insurance, you protect your company comprehensively against financial risks – strategically designed, individually combinable and precisely tailored to your business.

Public Liability Insurance

Public liability insurance covers third-party liability claims arising from damage caused through fault in the course of a company’s business operations. In the event of unjustified claims, the insurance will contest them including through legal proceedings if necessary. In addition to the company itself and its legal representatives, all employees are covered while carrying out their professional duties.

Electronics Insurance

Every business today relies on technology from computers, laptops and tablets to phones, printers and scanners. Programmes are used and data is processed on a daily basis.

Electronics insurance covers virtually all electronic devices, systems and installations, including data and communications technology, office equipment, measuring and testing equipment, cash registers, scales, as well as audio, visual and medical technology. Permanently installed storage media such as hard drives and system data are also included.

Coverage extends to physical damage and the loss of devices – for example through operator error, negligence, theft, vandalism or sabotage. Technical damage such as power surges, short circuits, design or material defects, as well as damage caused by fire, lightning, water, storm or flooding is also covered.

As an optional add-on, software insurance extends the coverage to include the costs of restoring programmes and data, as well as storage media and licence dongles.

Property Insurance

Property insurance protects owners of commercial real estate against risks arising from, for example, fire, burst pipes or storm and hail damage.

The aim of this commercial insurance is to cover the costs of rebuilding or restoring the property, as well as providing protection against additional expenses such as clean-up costs following a claim.

There is also the option to include further components, such as:

Contents Insurance

Contents insurance protects businesses against the financial consequences of damage caused by, for example, fire, burglary, burst pipes or storm and hail.

Technical and/or commercial business equipment can be insured up to the agreed insured sum. In addition, own and third-party goods and stock can also be covered.

There is also the option to include natural hazard coverage or glass breakage insurance. We are also happy to offer you business interruption insurance.

Machinery Insurance

Machinery is the backbone of many businesses. When it fails, high costs and production downtime can arise quickly. Machinery insurance protects against the financial consequences of unforeseen damage, such as damage or theft — covering both mobile and stationary equipment.

Comprehensive machinery insurance can be taken out for mobile and transportable machinery such as forklifts, excavators or cranes.

It provides protection against unforeseen damage or destruction caused by, among other things: operator error, negligence, wilful acts by third parties, design, material or workmanship defects, failure of measuring, control or safety devices, as well as fire, lightning, explosion, storm, frost or flooding.

Machinery insurance can be taken out for stationary machines and mechanical installations such as printing machines, compressors or woodworking machines.

Coverage includes unforeseen damage or destruction caused by, for example, operator error, wilful acts by third parties, design or material defects, power surges, failure of measuring or safety devices, as well as storm or frost.

Legal Expenses Insurance

Legal expenses insurance covers the risk of costs arising from legal disputes.

Up to a pre-agreed coverage limit per legal case, it covers the costs of legal counsel, witnesses and expert fees, court costs in general, and should an arbitration award require it  the costs of the opposing party.

There are various types and combinations of commercial legal expenses insurance available. The most common are:

Motor Vehicle Insurance / Fleet Insurance

Motor vehicle liability insurance is a legally mandatory insurance in accordance with the German Compulsory Insurance Act (PflVG). All owners of motor vehicles and trailers are required to take it out as soon as the vehicle is used on public roads.

It covers personal injury and property damage caused by the vehicle, thereby protecting road accident victims.

Unless otherwise agreed, all authorised drivers are included in the coverage. In addition to the driver, the vehicle owner is also liable — regardless of whether they are personally at fault.

Partial comprehensive insurance is an additional insurance policy that covers certain types of damage to a vehicle. Unlike the legally mandatory motor vehicle liability insurance, partial comprehensive insurance is a voluntary form of coverage.

As a rule, the following risks are covered:

Fully comprehensive insurance can be taken out as an extension to partial comprehensive insurance.

The two main areas of coverage are:

The compensation paid by comprehensive insurance is typically based on the vehicle’s replacement value.

The claims of the leasing company, however, are based on the calculated book value of the leasing contract, which particularly for commercial vehicles often exceeds the replacement value. For leased vehicles, there is therefore the option to take out GAP insurance, which in the event of a total loss or theft covers the difference between the replacement value and the settlement amount.

BBB damage refers to braking, operational and mechanical breakdown damage. These can be insured separately, as BBB damage is not included in the coverage of fully comprehensive insurance.
Braking Damage

Braking damage refers to damage caused directly to the vehicle as a result of the braking process.

Example: An emergency stop causes significant damage to the vehicle's braking system, or suddenly and forcefully applied brakes cause damage through poorly secured cargo.

Operational Damage

Operational damage refers to damage arising from the operation and specific use of the vehicle that is not the result of an accident. This includes, among other things, damage caused by buckling, twisting or shifting of the cargo.

Example: While driving, an improperly closed bonnet opens and damages the vehicle. An overloaded tail lift causes damage to the vehicle's structure or hydraulics. Improperly secured goods shift and damage the vehicle.
